The parade in the Kingdom of Ijora Oloye Apapa, Lagos state was busted by the Police due to a reason known to them.
The spectacular event was due to begin at 12.00pm before the policemen came around destroying the carnival costumes and accessories of the various color houses. Crowds and the thousands would be participant of the Akindele prestigious youth Ijora Kingdom carnival were urged to stay away by the policemen.
According to rumors it was said that the decision to stop the carnival came from the state government. The Oba tried to make the event occur but it wasn't enough.
It was really a sad day for the youth of the community which left them no other choice than to face the police. This turned to riot in the community, while the police were shooting, the youth were stoning them according to report.
